It feels like everything has changed,
yet somehow, everything remains the
same since we last met.
As I write this with a restless future
in the backdrop, one thing remains
certain, "New Orleans still gotta New
Orleans." I said it at the Welcome Home
Dinner, and I'll say it now. And in
these times of grave misinformation,
this truth remains our anchor.
But what does it mean to "New
Orleans"... well that's up to us.
I double-downed on creative power for
Homecoming because the writings were on
the wall. We can no longer ignore the
role of imagination in our lives. Be it
the mythologies that have insidiously
governed our state of being, like the
American Dream, or the liberating
mandates from our ancestral north
