When an unconventional mayoral candidate launches a plan to buy New Orleans'
sovereignty back from Louisiana through a combination of voodoo, chicken
restaurant lawsuits, and a port takeover, his outlandish campaign threatens
to either liberate or destroy the city he loves.
Through the lens of political satire and magical realism, "New
Orleans, New Orleans" follows Byron COVID's chaotic campaign
to achieve city sovereignty. With help from his Hoodoo
Chicken-practicing Chief of Staff, Churches, Byron employs
increasingly outlandish methods to free New Orleans from
state control.
The series combines traditional political drama with
supernatural elements, creating a unique world
where voodoo rituals influence policy decisions
and chicken restaurant mascots wield
unprecedented legal power.
Through Byron's unconventional campaign, the
show explores themes of city autonomy,
cultural preservation, and the fine line
between visionary leadership and complete
chaos, all while maintaining a
distinctly New Orleans flavor.
