SISTER
GIRLS
In 2015 New Orleans, where your high school pedigree still determines your
social standing, four 40-something friends must navigate their evolving
relationships as gentrification, career choices, and social obligations
force them to confront what loyalty really means in a city where "rebuild"
increasingly means "replace."
Set against the backdrop of post-Katrina New Orleans, "Sister Girls"
follows four friends from different high school backgrounds
as they navigate the intersection of class, loyalty, and
change. Through the lens of their friendship, the series
examines how school pedigrees continue to influence adult
relationships, while professional choices and social
obligations create tension within their circle.
The show combines sharp social commentary with
specific cultural context, exploring how traditional
social events perpetuate class divisions and
questioning what it means to rebuild a community
without replacing its people. Through intimate
brunch scenes and dramatic social confrontations,
the series illuminates the complex dynamics of
maintaining friendships across class lines in a
rapidly gentrifying city.
